PARIS, Dee. 19. There was a dramatic scene at the Salle Gavenu this afternoon, which shocked the large audience that had gathered to hear the French pianistlecturer. M. Robert Lort.nl, illustrating at the piano tbe different species of musical sensitiveness. After a luminous commentary on Chopin's Poem of Death, the pianist played the composition with emotional power. A storm of applause followed and M. I.ortal was about to resume his commentary when he fainted. In falling his head .struck the platform so violently that he wa s stunned. Hb was carried off the stage, hut after medical attention he was able to resume bis lecture.
