The British howlers were officially welcomed this forenoon, ami in the afternoon, played eight rinks reptesenting the Nelson centre. Hoa),> showers of rain fell in the morning: hut the weather was beautifully fine in the afternoon. The greens were on the heavy side, and a close contest resulted in. a' win for Nelson by 161 to 14b. The visitors won on five rinks, and Nelson on three.
