Tbe track was somewhat soft after recent rain, btil good times were put un in all events. Hahn beat the New Zealand record for half a mile by one and three fifth seconds, while Schulz won the hundred yards from scratch in ten seconds. West Coast runners assembled in force and bad every reason to be satisfied with lltelr showing against the American champions. Below aro given the results of the races Ibe Americans competed in. 100yds (first heat)—Sclmlr. (America) scr I. Maitland (Wanganui) syds 2. Time 10 I-osccs. Final.—Seliolz 1, Rosser 2, Rtisden (Wanganui) 3. Seliolz won a beautifilly judged race by iiu4i.es. lime 10 secs.
880yds—Tlabii (America) scr 1. Gilmour (New Plymouth) 25yds 2, O’Grady (Patea) 75vds 3. Hahn had the race in hand all the wav and won by 20yds. Time Imin 56 l-osecs. beating the Now Zealand record by I 3-5 seconds. 220yds (first heat)—Seliolz scr 1, Aforris (New Plymouth) 12yds 2. Time 22sces.
Final.— Scliolk I, Rosser 2. Torrens (Paten’! 3. Scliolk came with a great hurst over the last few yards and won by a foot. Time 22 I-ssecs. 220yds West Coast Cliainpinnshie.—• Telfer (Wanganui) 1. Morris (Yew Plymouth) 2, Shore (Hnwera) 3. Time 22 3-osecs. 440vds Maitland (’Wanganui) 10yds ], Hahn scr 2. O’Orndy (Patca) 37vds 3. Maitland won a fine race lint Hahn was only a foot behind at the finish. Time 50 4-ssecs.
