NELSON Feb. 2. The Hawke Cup match finished today Wanganui winning bv the wickets Nelson made 122 in the second innings, R. Eden 34 and Langbetn (not out) 23. being chief scorers. Extras totalled 27. Bowling for Wanganui. Williams took 4 for 20, Bernau 2 for 30. Holland 4 for 39. With Wanganui requiring 150 runs to win, Wood was dismissed when the -core stood at 11 ; hut Orr and Bernau carried the score to 48. while a good partnership ensued with London and Cave. Wangaimi scored at a faster iate than in their first innings, and knocked up the required runs in three hours. Of the six bowlers tried by Nelson, Newman I for 36, Hawke 2 for 23, and Haycock 2 for 35, secured the wickets. The highest scores for Wanganui were: Orr 30, Bernau 1.9, London 42. Cave 17 (not out).
NOTED COACH FOR N.Z. LONDON, Feb. 1. Maurice Tate, at the conclusion of 1926 cricket season, will go to Now Zealand to succeed Jack Board in a coaching engagement.
