NEAV PLYMOUTH, Jan. 28. Walter Batterly. a prisoner serving a sentence in the local gaol was this morning sentenced to three months additional for attempting to esenne on January 20th. In. The Alinister of Education telegraphed his congratulations on the success of the school. He thanked the lecturers for the assistance given, and the teachers for their earnestness, kceness for work, and the qualities which prompted them to devote a nortion of their holidays to school lectures. Alembers of the school were unanimous as to the great value of the school, while all spent a delightful holiday. FIRE AT HAMILTON. HAAHLTON, Jan. 27. A fire broke out at midnight at the offices of the Waikato Public Works’ Department electricity supply, but wa s got under control before serious damage was done.
A. Craig, the Brigade superintendent. fell through a skylight to the footpath and though confined to his bed, his injuries are not serious.
