SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. At tile wool sales there was good competition iu all sections for good to medium merino, for which prices ruled equal to late rales. Faulty soils were irregular and difficult ol sale. Comebacks and crossbreds sold live per cent, below last week’s rates. Creasy merino sold to t weiiiy-nine pence.
A SEVERE QUAKE. SYDNEY. Jan. 25. A sever earthquake shock has been recorded iu Sydney. Probably it was located in San Christobal in the Solomon Islands. MAORI AGRICULTURAL STUDENTS SYDNEY. Jan. 25. The Mainigaimi arrived at 11.30 a.in. from New Zealand. Five Maori students from Tc Ante College were passengers. They will enrol for a three years’ course at the ITawkesbury Agricultural College (under an arrangement whereby the two colleges exchange students each year). N.S.W. POLITICS. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. Parliament has hcen prorogued until the 9th. of February, when the legislative Council Abolition Bill will be again submitted.
