Schultz and Italin. were very successful in their first appearance in competition in Auckland. Schultz won the one hundred yards handicap from scratch, in lOsecs, and the 220yds from scratch in 21 2-osecs. Hahn won the one mile handicap from si r. in Iniiu 28seos. and from scratch he dead-heated with P. C. Gil1110111', of Xew Plymouth (ton yarns), in the 550yds, in 51 3-osoes. The ic were the only races, the Americans ran in. Uilmuur (20yds) won the 881.1yds handicap in 2min 2secs.
