FOSTER SINGLES CHAMPION

The Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association’s annual tournament. which has now keen in progress ten days, is well oil towards completion. the Singles Competition lining finished.
There are only three lots of players left in the rinks championship. The pairs championship is not so well advanced, butj this edent has bec'ii delayed, to some extent, owing to the fact that the players engaged in it were also engaged in the rink games, the latter receiving preference. All the green winners in the pairs competition have been found, and cpiite a number of post-section games have yet to be played to reach the semi-final stage.
If tlie fine weather continues, the Rinks competition will he completed •to-morrow, a-s there arc only two games to lie played now. The pairs competition will reach finality to-mor-row in the ordinary course of events. The final of the singles was played by two representatives of the Caledonian Club. AY. Foster (two lives) and A. Tretheway (one life). Foster won by two points. Foster was Dominion single champion in 1!)1S. The Rinks Championship has been reduced to three, namely: Harrawav (Dunedin). Grey (K el burn) and Thomson (Southland), each with one life. O AMARU, Jan. 21.
The British Bowlers played a team representing North Otago Centre today and were defeated by a majority of 12 points. Tlie scores were :—North Otago, 155; Britishers, 143.
