TELEPHONIC COMMUNICATION. INTER-ISLAND CABLE ARRIVING. [by TELEGRAPH —rER TRESS ASSOCIATION.] AVELLINGTON, January 21. About forty miles of cable for flic Cook Strait telephone line is expected here in March. Tlie cable is specially constructed with wrappings of an alloy of iron and nickel and will be the first of the kind in New Zealand.
It is expected Ibis cable will allow telephonic communication between the two Islands without diffieultv.
