DUNEDIN JAMBOREE CAMP.

“EVERYTHING JUST SPLENDID.” CHRISTCHURCH, January 19. In a letter received towards the end of last week by the District Commissioner. Major R. F. W. Ashworth, from District Scoutmaster G. W. Bishop, of New Brighton, the following remarks are made regarding the Boy Scout Jamboree camp at Dunedin : “It would he a very disgruntled individual who would find fault with our big Jamboree. Everything is just splendid, and our Dunedin Scouters are deserving of the highest praise for the excellent manner in which they are running this great camp. The camp is well laid out, the food plentiful and good, and the officers from the Commandant downward are doing their best to give us a good time. The Scouters from all parts are jolly good fellows, and the boys are behaving excellently.

“ 1 am writing this in a tent set apart as a 'writing-room for the hoys. It’s fine to see tho little chaps crowding in to write to their mothers of the wonderful time they are having. The Exhibition, of course, is the centre of interest.. I’m afraid the amusement park is taking a fair share of their pocket money, hut not all. as shown by the little souvenirs being sent home to mother. "The mornings so far have been spent in preparation for next week’s appearance at the Exhibition, and in getting off the heats of iho various events. “ 1 regret to say that we had a ‘walk-over’ in the quickstep competition. hut had Hu' .satisfaction of being told hv the judge.. Major Sandford, that we had not up an excellent performance.’’
