FREEZING WORKERS.
THE DISPUTE SETTLED. [by TELEGRAPH PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, .Tan. 20. F. V. Sanderson (Secretary of the North Island Freezing Companies’ Association) has been advised that the men in all Canterbury Freezing Works will resume normal killing this morning. The news of a settlement of the dispute will come as a reb'ef to sheepfarmers and freezing employees alike, as January sees killing operations in full swing in both Islands. GO-SLOW POLICY ENDS. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 20. The go-slow policy at Canterbury Freezing Works ended this morning, the normal killing rate being resumed. This development follows the ultimatum issued overnight by the companies that if the normal pace was not resumed, no stock would he offered. The Union Secretary states that though things are normal, the point to ho. emphasised is that the dispute is not settled.
