An echo of the defeat of flic Government in the Legislative Council over the Electoral Bill was a meeting of the Lalxmr Party, which decided that, in view of the vital importance to the Labour Movement of the passing of Government legislation, and that as the planks of the Labour platform must come before every other consideration. the Party will not recognise any pairs given in the Legislative Council, and instructs any member. who has granted a pair to discontinue at once. This means a refutation of the honourable political arrangement with the Nationalists, but the motion was carried with only one dissentient.
