A WIN AND A LOSS. (Sy Telegraph.— Special to Guardian). DUN KIM N, January 10. Stevenson’s game with North-east Valley took place this morning. The green’ was very last with a. strong cross wind which hampered them and as a result they were down 20 to 18. T hey scored 5 in the next three heads. The Valley were 81 to 18 at the 19th. Stevenson scored 2 and then <1 in two bonds. The score at the 24th head was North-east Valley 80 to 21. The drawing of the Valley skip was the deciding factor.

The afternoon was cloudy with rain and the green sticky in places. Orchard (Christchurch) led trom the second head and went steadily ahead. Stevenson doing good work. At the intli head Orchard were 19 to loStevenson gained two more in two heads and then Orchard drew one in each of three heads. The game was now exciting. Christchurch burnt two beads when Stevenson wa« laying two. At the 2lib bead. Stevenson was 6 up. Orchard burnt three heads in .succession. In the last head Stevenson was one down and he won by 23 io 13 amidst great excitement of the spectators. The team’s work was fairly good. Stevenson pi a veil good all through the game. His rink has provided the two most exciting games, so iar. of the section. Stevenson plays Kelburn. leaders or Hie section, to-morrow. Air H. Williams (formerly of Hokitika) leads for them. The Runnngn Bowling Club will play Hokitika at Hokitika next Saturday (Runangn picnic excursion day) four or five rinks being brought down.

Owing to the heavy rain that fell during the night and the unpromising conditions this morning, the visit of the 1 fowling team to Runanga this afternoon was cancelled.

The questions of adopting a new badge, the design of which has been received, was held over till the annual meeting, as was also a remit from the South Canterbury centre that all stamps for howl testing prior to 1924 he declared illegal.

The Council decided to take no action in a proposal to play a New Zealand v. England test match during the present tournament. It was decided that model rules and conditions for governing all tournaments he compiled hv the executive. The Council agreed that the North Island rinks competing at the Australian carnival should travel under the auspices of the association. It was decided to adopt the Wellington’s centre's suggestion that an International Association of the British Commonwealth of Nations he formed, with the object of playing international games in different countries in turn annually, if possible, and it was resolved to enter into negotiations overseas.

A revised list of rules was adopted, the most important being the cutting out of the 1923 stamp.
