NEW AVORLD’S RECORDS [BY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEAV YORK, Jan. 12. The Amateur Athletic Union has announced that it lias sanctioned unpaced trials against time that were supervised by the officials of the Florida branch of tho Union, as follows: AA'e ism idler broke the’ world’s record for one hundred metres, setting a new figure of 58 2-ssecs. Borg broke the four hundred metre record, doing 293 3-ssecs., tho 880 yards record, doing 689 3-osecs. The trials were conducted over a course not less than 50 metres. Miss Ethel Laekie broke the world’s women’s record for one hundred metres, doing 71 4-osecs.
