LATE LOCALS.

The people of Hokitika and surrounding districts will be pleased to know that an up-to-date ladies’ and children’s toilet saloon will be shortly opened in the town. Miss N. Lock has for some time now been undergoing a strict full course at the leading Toilet Saloon, of Christchurch, in hair-trimming, shingling, bingling, shampooing, permanent and ordinary waving, and facial massage and treatment etc., lmir-dying, tinting and manicuring.

A correspondent writes suggesting in connection with the proposed schools excursion that the locality selected he Point Elizabeth. Now trains run right out to the James Mine, and stop right alongside the Seven Mile Creek at the beach where there is an abundance of fresh water and natural facilities for bathing and picnic parties. The train journey is only a quarter of an hour further than Greymouth and the place is an ideal one for a picnic excursion, with plenty of hush scenery right alongside. Then it is only ])- miles from Runanga whose people visit the beach daily and would give an opportunity to meet them.
