1925 FIGURES
While 238 cases of acute polimyelitis, commonly known as infantile paralysis, were reported in the Canterbury and Westland Health District for the year 192-3, as against -I lor the previous twelve months, there were only 234 cases of diphtheria last year as compared with G 54 for 1921. There was a happy decline ill the scarlet fever figures, 372 cases being notified as agaisnt 408 for the previous year. Primary pneumonia, too, showed a falling off, there being only 110 notifications in 1025 as compared with 23(1 for the previous year. Tuberculosis, however, showed an increase, the notilicat ions being 309 lor 1925 as against 222 for 192-1.
