A MEXICAN MASSACRE
MEXICAN BANDIT MENACE. [Australia A N.Z. Cable Association.] MEXICO CITY, Jan. 11. A train was attacked by bandits lictweon Guadaljara and Mexico City. The majority of the passengers were murdered, and most of the military escort were killed, according to a report received here from Guadaljara. MEXICO CITY. Jan. 10.
Twenty aimed men boarded the train at Guadaljara, and they suddenly began knifing the soldiers aboard, and robbing and killing the passengers. Of the military escort, all but seven were killed, and those were seriously wounded. The train was burned with the victims.
Tlie bandits were under the orders of a former Colonel. Nunez. They made their escape on the engine, carrying away three hundred pesos in booty. Telegraph communication was cut. THE MEXICAN MASSACRE. MOST ATROCIOUS FOR YEARS MEXICO CITY, Jan. 11. Twenty bodies, burned beyond recognition, have been recovered from the train which the bandits wrecked, looted and burned on Sunday, near Guadalajara.
It is understood the desperadoes committed the outrage, which is one of the most atrocious crimes perpetrated in Mexico in recent years, in the mistaken belief that General Ferreria, the military commander of the State of Galisce. was aboard the train.
