QUEEN’S BRITISH TOYS.

LONDON, November 9. “Did you make this yourself?” was the question asked many times by the Queen when she visited tlio Englishwomen Arts and Handicrafts Exhibition'at the Central Hall, Westminster, on Saturday. The Queen, who had deferred her departure for Sandringham for two hours to see what Englishwomen of to-day call make for the home, made many purchases, including a woolly white dog and others toys for her grandchildren, Hubert and George Lascelles (sons of Princess Mary Viscountess Lascelles) and numbers of other toys for Christmas trees. Before deciding to buy them, the Queen had to. he assured that each was “home-made.” A model house in the exhibition was inspected by Her Majesty, who looked through each of the 35 windows of the model and asked many questions about the style of furnishing the rooms. On a table was a tiny pot-plant, an inch high. “ I must have that,” the Queen said, and the plant was taken out and handed to the Queen, who at once put it in her muff.
