BOY SCOUTS.

(Contributed.) The party of AVestland Scouts who left for the Jamboree by yesterday’s express wish tho thank all those in Hokitika who have helped to make the success of the trip certain. The help in question includes support and organisation in various schemes lor “raising the wind” which have been carried out, instruction and examination in various test and in singing, construction of tents,, (lags and other gear that will bo used at the Jamboree, medical examination of the boys before departure, and many varied individual kindnesses as well as the care with which parents have helped to collect the correct personal kit for each boy. Several clays will be spent in Christchurch. before tbo Scout Train for Dunedin finally leaves. Here the party is camping on private property within easy reach of the centre ot the city. Tho Jamboree itself consists ot a fortnight in camp at Dunedin of-which the first week will be given to rehearsals and working of athletic “heats,” relieved by a certain amount of sightseeing at the Exhibition and elsewhere; and tbc second week to public displays aL the Exhibition, parades and rallies in tlie town and similar functions. The possibility ol' covering the section from Arthur’s Bass to Otira on foot is lteing considered as part of the homeward journey. It is expected that tbo party will return to Hokitika by the* last, Tuesday in the present month.
