THE DUNEDIN EXHIBITION.

[jlY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION,

DUNEDIN, Jan. 0

Last, night tho seventh week of tho Exhibition concluded with a magnificent attendance record of 791,985. Tho attendance during the next week too, is likely to be as heavy, as to-morrow begins two big popular attractions, tho championships and competitions festival, for which entries have been received from all parts of the Dominion. The axemen’s championship carnival, with the biggest prize money ever offered for such an event in Mew Zealand, in which all well-known Dominion axemen and several from Australia will take part. Mr Stuart Wilson and Cupt. Nimmo, special delegates from Wellington, in connection with the Wellington proposal to follow Dunedin’s example said: “We would like to take advantage of the occasion to appeal to all people of t>e Dominion, particularly those resident in the North Island, not to let the opportunity go by without visiting what is undoubtedly the best exhibition yet held south of the line. On arrival at tho Exhibition wo were absolutely amazed at the colossal scale on which it is planned, and tho splendid way in which it is carried out.. Tho press reports cannot possibly convey with adequacy the va.stne.ss ol its conception, the great breadth of the Dominion, nay, the international spirit in which it has been designed and the amount of thought put into every detail.”
