Before the appointments were made the Dominion Office had informed the Governor the matter was one between him and bis Ministers. but gave no instruct ions. LONDON. December 22.

It is learned that the Colonial Office unequivocally endorses Admiral He Chair’s (Governor of New South \\ alesi action regarding the New South Yales Legislative Council. While it was true that Air Amery (Dominion Secretary) bad been fully informed of the developments, it was untrue that Mr Amery bad either directly or indirectly, attempted to influence the Governor’s action. This was unnecessary because the Queensland precedent has established the principal that Governors must accept the advice of their Ministers on constitutional questions.
