MEDICAL ERAFD. WASHINGTON, Dec. 21. Doctor Hclmutli Heller, was found guilty of using the mails to defraud in connection with the medical diploma mill, an inquiry into which was cabled on Nov. IDth. and November 21th. 1923. Dr Heller was President of a mythical Oriental University, and was the’ self-styled Bishop of the Theuninistie Church. He admitted tl:u i'-siianee of diplomas by mail, miT only for medicine, surgery and dentistry;.-. but for psychic healing and many other sciences. The students never attended classes. The professors signing the diplomas were accustomed to receive 26 cents per signature.
Assistant District Attorneys Hover and McCall, in testifying, declared the mythical university was founded on lies, deceit and dishonesty, and had Hooded tin* Fnited States and many other countries with worthless diplomas. holding to many fatalities among patient*.
