Clarence Ward, aged 23, who was injured recently, through a motor cycle lie was riding colliding with a motor lorry in the city, died in the hospital this evening. A MOTORIST FIXED. WELLINGTON, December 10. Ernest Allan Orr pleaded not guilty to being in charge of a motor lorry while drunk. The police stated that he ca me out of an hotel, and was manipulating the levers, but the engine was not running. The defence was that the mau was not in charge of the vehicle, and had no intention of driving the vehicle home, as he expected a friend, whom, he was teaching to drive, would do so. As his man had not arrived he intended to drive the vehicle into a side street and leave it there. Mr Riddell convicted and fined him €o. His license was suspended for two months, and endorsed.
