Indignation has Itecn caused at 1\ agga by the remarks alleged to have been uttered hv the New Zealand ct ickefcers. On their arrival in the town to-day. they visited the cricket giound where the captain is said to have made a disparaging remark concerning the ground and the wicket. Another member of the team is alleged to have said the Board of Control should he censored for sending a team like the New Zealanders to a town like Wagga. During a dinner to the team the Mayor referred to the remarks and compared the artificial w icket at AA agga to the natural ones in Xew Zealand.
Li passing reforoii!c to the incident. Patrick, at the dinner, said the team was agreeahlv surprised at the wicket which had played well, and it was the fastest scoring ground they had played oil. His team had greatly enjoyed the visit.
The local feeling which was very high over the incident was reflected in the incessant barracking throughout the match.
