Ai, l.ouchotir was present at a sitting of ihe Chamber Finance Committeo which confirmed last night’s decision regarding the fresh taxation and sinking fund measures. The discussion centred on the issue of whether the Commission would ask tlun Government to .submit new proposals, or whether the. committee itself slimtld draft a scheme. Subsequently AL Alalvy and AI. Lamnureitx, the CKdt't'Tan and Reporter of the Einanee Committee called on AI. liriand, and explained the exact significance of the committee’s referring hack the whole of the Government’s fiscal proposals. It was in no way aimed against AI. Briand. M. Loucheiir then called on AI. Briand and tendered his resignation.
