Braddon, allot' wishing members the compliments of tile season intimated that this would be the last. ’Xmas he would he in charge of the Brigade, a- he intended retiring in June. The .-uinoum emont was received with extreme regret by members. The alnnouneement of the coming retirement of Superintendent Braddon will he received with general regret In the town. Air Braddon has been n member of the Fire Brigade for -l(i years, a veiy lengthy term of service, and has always taken a prominent part in the work of the Brigade. 11l his younger days he was a regular competitor at the Fire Brigade competitions. For many years he was deputy Captain of the Brigade, and following Superintendent F. W. Thompson who 'was the; first Simcn’nteiident under the Fire Board's regime. Air Braddon has been Superintendent for the [last fourteen years. During that period he lias rendered conscient ions service that, has won and held the continued approval and appreciation ol the Fire Board, the Fire Brigade and the genera! public alike. Although there will he universal regret fell at the coming retirement ii will lie readily recognised that after >urh a, very lengthy term ot service Air Braddon is fairly entitled to take the step tie proposes.
