FLOOD DAMAGE
The Pot in axle i' advised this afternoon that the Railway Department has nutilied that until further notice no parcels will he carried overland, only letter mail to go l'orwuiu.
This is the result of the wasliaway this side of Otira. which is of a .substantial nature. Everything transhipped will have to he carried a mile. Road traffic from Kumnrn to Otira is also blocked owing to a number of slips between Kumara and Wainiliinihi. Parcels will not therefore he accepted for transmission overland until further notified.
