Although in most departments there were smaller entries ol stock at the weekly sale, at Addington on Wednesday than has been the ease lor some time there was no general improvement in prices. There were only eight races of fat sheep forward, and these were lightly filled, but there seemed to be quite' sufficient to meet the demand. Indeed, towards the end ol the sale an easing tendency developed, but, taking the market as a whole, values were about on the same level as those ruling last week. In the case of fat cattle the yarding was a iairlv large one. •>-■ head being penned. It was, however, smaller than has been the case tor some time, but,this did not lead to any improvement in the demand. In fac-t, as in the case of fat sheep, an easing tendency developed before the sa e was over, though prime quality sold steadily throughout. Although the demand for fat lambs opened briskly it soon went off. and, on the whole, prices were no better than those ruling a week ago. In the store sheep department we-iers met with dull competition and went back in price to the extent of up to .7, 6d a bead on late rates. Considering the state of the beef market store cattle sold quite freely and an improvement was recorded in the price of dairy cattle. All vealers fit for butchers purposes met with an active demand at hicli prices. Fat pigs sold fumlj at late rates, and there was no appreciable alteration m the price of store , Pigs-
