The New Zealand market is firm with a better demand. High points sold at CIO; fair at £36 for Ociobcr-Reeomber to l)ccemlier-Foh-i ii:irv shipments. Tow is offered more freely on flic basis of £26 for No. 2 qua I it v. i ’ WOOL. | Sales are continuing satisfactory. | Cross-bred has improved and fine crossbred is now 5 per cent., also medium and coarse cross-bred is 10 per cent, above October closing rates. There is a strong demand largely due to the necessity of meeting immediate requtvinents.
TALLOW. The spot market remains steady. Fair business is being done. Present (jnotations are unelm nged with the exception of mutton, fine. -18 s Od to 495, beef, fair to good, 41s 9d to 44s Od. EGGS. The opening market was firmer on mscoimt of light supplies, but the demand has fallen off considerably uni the market closed weak. Present quotations are:— English, Danish. Dutch, 32s per long 100. ' Irish and Belgian, 31s ta 33s per long 100. French and Italian. 2os to 28s per long ICO. Australian. 24s to 2-ls per long 190. South African, ]3s 6d to 18s per long 100.
