ZA.XK (.'HEY STORY TO-XrGHT. There are tew writers of the present day who equal Zone (trey in popularity. And with each succeeding: romance that is published his popularity increases. And now the screen turns to this master of fiction for inspiration for screen masterpieces. Already “To the hast Man'’ and “I lie Call of the Canyon’’ have appeared, and were made under the personal supervision of Mr Zano (•'rev himself. The pictures have not been made in the studies or even in the more frequented locations of the movie folk, hut the companies making them have been taken to the actual locations. that have been mentioned in the novels. This not only gives the public, authenticity of location, hut puts new life and vigour into the action. Both the outdoor scenes <d "To the hast Man" and “The Call of the Canyon'’ were taken in the remote districts of the United States ilial were mentioned in the novels, and the players taken to these parts. And now the third and greatest romance from the pen of this gifted writer comes to the vast army of movie patrons through the .screen, and in this, as in the previous two. the players journeyed to the exact locations, experiencing many hardships. “The Heritage of the Desert’’ is a romance of llie most stirring type, and has been played by a east of sterling actors. The Tndian maid Mescal was played by Belie Daniels, the pioneer of the desert places. Augustus Xaah. by Ernest Torrence; the chief of the rustlers by Xoah Beery, and the tenderfoot from the Eastern States, who falls in love with Meseal h,v Lloyd Hughes. These players are supported by a cast and company of over two hundred, and by an entire Irihe of Navajo Indians. In addition to these actors, and the author, there is a further factor that counts for the success of this picture. “The Heritage of the Desert" was produced by Irvin Williams.
