ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. PRICES DROP ALL ROUND. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs 11. Matson and Co., report as follows rcgntding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep : A .smaller yarding than last week and comprised practically all shorn sheep, the majority of which acre wethers, hi face of the weather conditions ns well as the unfavourable reports of opening freezing prices, buyers wore very apathetic and passings were fairly frequent. Wethers showed quite 2s to Is of a drop, hut even then sold hotter in comparison than in the fat pens. Ewes .and lambs, which formed the latlance of the entry, diil not suffer to the same extent, I ut there was nothing very stylish offering. Rest forward wethers made •_'7s to “29s (id, one extra good pen 80s Rid. best 2 tooths 28s (id to 21s lid, smaller 2ls 7<l to 235, culls down to 18s.
Store Cattle:—A fair yarding and although mostly nondescript lots there were one or two pens of decent cattle ill. The market was hardly as keen ns last week, hut most of the yarding changed hands. Three and four year steers; made £9 1 Is (id to £lO 7s (id. yearling and eighteen month old steers
'l2 17s fid to £3 Is fid, ditto heifers £3 10s. Cows made about the same as last sale.
Eat Pigs:—A very large entry. Porkers were easier, hut haennors sold at Into rates. Values: light porkers .-,os to (i2s fid, heavy fi.Ss to 725, average BKI to Di-il; light baroners £•! (is to £4 Ids, heavy £."> to £7, Ins. extra to £fi os, average 8d to 9d ; choppers £3 to £7 10s.
Store Pigs:—A large entry and except for a few pens of extra goods pigs prices were easier all round. Values: 23s to 28>, slips 30s to 3(is, medium 38s to 435. large 48s fid to 78s fid. Reel :—An extra large yarding comprising (ifiO head, which included several consignments from tile North Island. The quality was irregular and the market showed a drop cl £2 to £3 per head. Prime steers made £lO 10s to £lB 17s. extra to £23 17s (id. medium £l3 to £l7 7s, lighter down t„ £lO Ids. heilot's (prime) £ll to £l2 7s. extra to £l7 7s fill, medium .3.8 to £lO 10s. others down to £(i 7s (It. prime cows £lO to £l3 7s, extra to £l7 7s fid, medium £8 to £!) 17s, others to £4 10s.
.Mutton:—Another large yarding and mostly shorn quality which was not up to thn usual average. In the face of the large hoof and lamb yarding the market showed a decided drop cf 2s to 3s all round and in some cast's more, hut even so the sale was even throughout. Graziers were not aperating In any extent, consequently linfinislicd sheep suffered worse. Prime wethers made 33s to 3(is fid, extra to 80s 111, shunt wethers 43s (id to 71 (id. medium 30s In 32s fid. lighter to 27s fid, prime ewes 2fis (Til to 31s, extra to 33s 10s, medium 21s to 2(is, lighter 21s (id to 23s (id. inferior down to 17s. Woolly sheep the same proportion. Lambs: —A large yarding of lambs, being ton many lor butchers requirements and consequently showed a big ilrm, of fid to 7s per head. From ilie above report it can be seen practically every department showed a drop.
