Professor AlacNciTl, whose resignation from the Boundary Commission was mentioned on November 21st. has now resigned from tlie Free State Government. In a long explanation to the Daii Fireann. Professor MacNcill said that fie regarded his position on the Boundary Commission ns that of a plenipotentiary, and not purely as that of the representative of tlie Irish Free State Government, nor as that of an advocate of any particular viewpoint, but, as a representative of the trust created by Article 12 of the Irish Treaty. When the Boundary- Commission’s report was completed, he though that Article 12 would not l>e fulfilled, so he had resigned in order to give the Free State Government a free hand. COMAITSSTON’S VIEWS. LONDON, Nov. 24. The Irish Boundary Commission announces that Air Fisher and Judge Feet ham have held a conference with representatives of the British Government, and have intimated that, in the Commission’s view, tlie rcs, " l ’^ tlo ' l of Professor ALicNed! could not he icon rded as valid and effectual. " Further, the Commission is expected to deliver its award at an early date.
