Air Al. Barak’s i-M-onl shows a career of outstanding merit, tsilh in the sporting ami .scholastic spheres, lie is 21 years old. lie was educated at the Warea Primary School ilaianaki), at New Plymouth Roy's High School, and at Canterbury College. His career at New Plymouth Roy's High School was a brilliant one. he being tin* first in his form during the five veals that lie was at the school, as well as winning various other school prizes. He also won junior and senior National scholarships. 11l lil-’l. lie was dux of the school, winning the University National Scholarship. Mr Barak also took a prominent part in the sporting lile ol the school, Heine a member of various shooting and football teams. Coming to Canterbury College in 1922. he continued his career in l>otli spheres. In 1924 he carried off the College prize in pure mathematics. anil in the following icai lie gained college prizes in applied mathematics and advamed physics. In 1924 he completed his B.Sc,. gaining the College and Hnydon prizes in physics. He also gained tlie Sir George Gray Scholarship of that year in chemistry and physics.
