Fp until the present, the great lignt between William Fa mum and Tom Sant chi in the original production oi tin l “Spoilers,” made about ten years ago, stands out. in the realistic battles of the screen. Whenever screen players get togetchr. and the iopic turns to historical screen conflicts, the Furniim-Santchi light is always held up as the greatest ever staged. But in the future they will have to reckon with tile stirring battle put up by Richard Talmadge in the Carlos pro duct ion, "in Fast Company,” which is to he seen in this city at the Princess Theatre on Thursday. Along with ‘'The Spoilers” battle, it will go down in screen history as the most realistic conflict between human livings ever staged before Lho eye of the camera. Talmadge is young, husky and fast. In flic linal scenes of the Truart picture. he is called upon to rescue Alildred Harris from a gang of crooks who have her locked up in an upper room of a mountain lodge. Through a trick, Talmadge gains entrance to the room, and is set upon by the thugs—eight of them. In the battle that follows the door to the room at the head of a flight of stairs gives way before the stress of conflict, is battered olf its hinges, ami Talmadge. with four of the crooks, is carried on it down a long flight of steps. Here he is again seized by the crooks and fights them up the stairway and across the upper landing. With two ol them, lie is carried over tile railing and into the room below, a drop of twenty feet. Again he lights them up the stairway, escaping long enough to take a headlong dive down the bannisters, landing in a group who are dragging Miss Harris from the place. The entire action lasts about three minutes, but every second is

brimful of real light, and that .someone was not seriously injured is a miracle. But Talmadge. wbo lias come rapidly to the front: in the last year, as a player of action, has his work s> well routined that every move is planned beforehand, and goes through with i lork-like precision. Taking chances as !u> does, ii lias to he worked out that wav, a.s the stunt.- are too risky io do twice and the camera must get them the first time. Special attraction—Waller Vernon and Ginger, world lemons entertainers in ventriloquism, comedy and monologue solos. Prices. 'Js. Is (id, and children (id. (In Frnlav next Zone Grey s greatstory ‘-rile' Heritage of 1 lie He serf' will be shown, and on Monday m-xt Robe "Daniels and Richard Hix in a special Paramount entitled ‘’Sinners in Heaven.”
