A UNIQUE GATHERING. The young people belonging to the •Presbyterian Church lmd a grand time yesterday evening. Aliss Thompson, assisted by her two sisters, Nellie and Alay, with the Aliases Preston, Blair, Leslie, Barrowman, Peddcr, Robinson and Alay Maunder; and Mr James Park, Philip Blank and Gideon Anderson; with Air Bulpin as AFC., for the games, successfully arranged and earlied out the whole programme. A unique feature of the function was, that with the exception of the President and the AFC. all those present were between the ages of seven and twenty-one years; and there was not one belonging to the Sunday School staff.

Airs Preston supplied all things for the tea and dessert. These were excellent. The tables were tastefully decorated, the manse garden supplying the roses. After tea the younger foiK romped outside till dusk, while the older had tea and cleared the hall etc. In the softly falling twilight all gathered inside,’ and there was some tun till concert time. The older* folk who know where the strength of the future church lies rolled up l , to see and to hear, and to encourage the young people in their innocent pleasures. The concert, wholly impromtu, was provided hy the children themselves. It was good, and the audience were delighted. realising that they had received full value for their attendance and the price paid for admission. “Just one sunny smile.”

The prizes consisting of sixteen firsts., three seconds, three thirds, and doilluminated cards were given out by the two secretaries, Alisses Peddcr and .Maunder. The president thanked :il! for their assistance, and said that to those who could sec the future chur.'hi of St. Andrew’s was there liefore then. The singing of Auld Lang Syne, throe cheers for Mr- Hutson, and the Benediction, brought to an end a happy evening which will live long in the memory of those who were privileged to take a part. _____
