STRIKE FUNDS EXHAUSTED. SYDNEY, Nov. 16. A meeting of about three hundred Britsli seamen to-day decided to continue the strike. The men, however, were very dissatisfied, many openly talking of returning to the ships.

A batch of about twenty men returned to the Themistocles to-day. AIELBDURNE, Nov. 16.

Strike funds are exhausted and the men are expected to return to work in a few days. The vessels moved freely during the week-end. Alany strikers have gone into the country ill enroll of employment.

The shipping strike has practically ceased and will have no further significance so far as the despatch, of ships is concerned.

Following the elections the shipowners are now in a position to guarantee sailings, hut it. will he some months before noraml conditions are restored.

The strike has caused enormous losses to British lines and it will Ik- a considerable time before the shipowners aro able to even consider a reduction in freights or fares. Well informed circles arc of the opinion that it will not he surprising if freights are increaed.
