LICENSING ACT BREACH. OPITIKI, Nov. 13

Charles Humbly, a garage proprietor, was charged at the Police Court today with (1) supplying liquor to a Native for consuniliou off licensed premises in the Maori Council district of Matat.ua ; (2) selling liquor at Opotiki without a license; (3) supplying liquor to a prohibited person. Alter hearing evidence the Magistrate. Mr Keowick, dismissed the third charge. On. the first charge defendant was fined 1010. and on Hie second charge he was fined C4O.

The Rev William Lee'died here yesterday. aged eighty-five. He was president'of the New'Zealand Wesleyan Conference in 1889 and lield other important positions in Christchurch.

John Stool, married, died in the hospital from veronal poisoning two hours alter being admitted. John .Mason, of Epsom, injured by a. fall from a motor cycle on Tuesday, died yesterday.
