LONDON. .September ‘JO. Notwithstanding the groni vogue, which Drown li:is hud ior lounge suits, this colour is again among those in tile first rank of popularity for town wear. The new blue-greys and other dusted effects are also very strong', btu_ the novelty of the season is a self-colour grey. I»lno, or brown dusted jacket worn with trousers of the same material Inti carrying an indistinct white, black or contrasting stripe. Shadow stripes are a new touch and are to lie had in all the popular sell colours, while shot herringbones embracing colouts hitherto not associated with the mere male are another slop in the direction of more colour for men. An entirely new departure in the plus four or country suit is the new small hound’s tooth check in two shades to he worn with a matching self-colour dusted jacket. The near approach of the dancing season has given added impetus to tailoring in the West End of London, for many men have been ordering both an evening and dinner suit. Xow that full evening clothes are more often than not worn by a man accompanying a woman friend to the theatre, there is a greater demand for the tailed-coat than hitherto.
THE TANGO WOMAN. T-ONTHTN, Sept. 26. With the introduction of the new French tango will come a new type of woman dancer. This '''Tango-woman” will be rather dreamy and low-voiced—reflecting the sighing philosophic quality of the music to which she dances. Her dance frock will have a Hared skirt, edged, in many instances, with a trimming of heavy fur. the weight of which will give a great sway to the dress—adding to the grace of her movement. Often, too. iter frock will he of “Tango” colour—that autumnal shade of golden brown named after the dance. The heels of her shoes will be high, as much perhaps, as 21 inches, and they may he of a different colour from the rest of the shoe. Her hnir-so Fashion dictates—should bo inclined to curl rather than to wave.
