McLEAN'S PICTURES.

‘ THE AVHITE SHADOAA T ” —TO-NIGHT,

“The AY hi to Shadow” is tho star picture to bo presented by McLeans Pictures at tho Princess Theatre tonight. AVhen the great film, “AVoman to AVoman ” was presented to Australasian audiences its success was instantaneous, being highly commended Incompetent dramatic critics in addition to the general public as a wonderful piece of screen work from a production standpoint, as well as in the acting of the stars, Betty Compson and Clive Brook. Now these two clever performers are to he seen again in a film made under the direction of the man who made the foregoing film, Graham Cutts, in a dramatic offering of an equally high standard, entitled,

“The AA’hito Shadow.” In this picture Aliss Compson enacts a dual role, that of twin sisters of widely different natures, one a quiet, refined girl, home loving and sensible, and tho other a wild misohevious, maid whoso search for excitement and disregard for parental advice, leads her into innumerable complications. AVitli the versatilty so characteristic of Miss Compson, she portrays the two utterly opposite characterisations in a vivid and true to lifo manner in keeping with her undoubtedly great histrionic ability. Mr Clive Brook further enhances the reputation lie lias already made in the work lie does, in support of Miss Compson. First class supports aro also included, the whole making up a programme which should be very onterlaining.
