BOY SCOUTS.
(Contributed.) I. norder to avoid interference with school “homelessons” the Second Troop will meet in future on Friday evenings and Saturadys. 'lbis does not refer to the Wolf Cubs who will continue to meet directly alter school on Tuesday afternoons. The revised time-table is now as follows: Sunday, Scouts and Cubs Own at 4.15 p.m. Tuesday, Cubs Pack meeting at 4.05 p.m. Wednesday, Court of Honour at 4.15 p.m. (patrol leaders and seconds onh'3. Friday, Scouts Troop meeting at 7.0 p.m. Saturday, daylight meetings, Cubs nt 10.0 a.m., Scouts at i.O p.m. On the second week-end of each month, the scouts will hold their weekend camp. While this is on no cub meetings are held hut cubs have a whole day out the following week-end. Roth troops have been sadly hindered by irreglar attendance this year and investigation has proved that this is due as often to parents as to the hoys own slackness. In the case ol these small troops a whole evening may he wasted through the non-attendance of one or two and parents could help immensely if they would make an cllort to keep tin* hour or so a week live from home duties and would tench their boys courtesy to the extent of giving notice when attendance is impossible. \h was to be expected tlio offer of free rail to the Dunedin .Jamboree produced an embarrassing number of applications for the extra places that have been allotted to Hokitika. _ These are now being dealt, with, lull in the meantime any who have not. yol done so should hand in their deposit of £l, if they wish to stand a chance ol being included. In the case of those not chosen this will he returned to them in the course of the next week.
The Second Scouts are camping al Smith. Spit this week-end and next oek tiie Cubs will hold their first camp this season, but this latter will only he held if the weather is fairly promising. __________i
