From r..'iO p.m. till after midnight, when lights out was given, the crowd stayed watching with interest the various announcements. Luckily the weather kept fine till nearly midnight and did not interfere to any. extent with the comfort of the' onlookers.

From the bottom of his iionrl be thanked all who had worked on I>K behalf. There were still over 300 absent votes to come in and the result, was still in doubt, and he would take a later opportunity of further expressing his appreciation for the support accorded. — T AH Xoil AVarreii then spoke. He stated lie bail just been speaking to Hr O’Brien on the telephone and the latter had asked him to express his thanks to the people who had worked on his behalf and enabled him to win such a splendid moral victory loi Labour.
