The trial of James Bridge for manslaughter, arising out ol the death ot .Alary McKenzie, at Onehunga, on August l.’fih, when a motor truck ran into the tramway shelter sited, was concluded to-day when the Jury found the accused not guilty of manslaughter and with regard to the allegation of negligent driving said that they wore prepared to give the accused the benefit of tie doubt as to the speed ol the truck, and returned a verdict ol not guilty. The jury recommended that shelter sheds should he removed as being a danger to the trzvelling public.

A verdict of not guilty was also returned in the case of William Sinclair, aged 1(1, charged with the manslaughter of Mrs Kate Dowling, in May, 1934, through knocking her down with a motor ear. Shortly after the accident the accused went to Sydney, hut came back and gave himself up to face the present charge.
