The first seel ion of its .10,000 words report, published to-day. finds that there is increased drinking among yninis peoole and also a {treater disrespect for the law, hut that, economic conditions hnye improved, that wives are receiving greater proportions of their husband's earnings. that health in the homes is better, ami that there has been a decrease in invade delinquency.
It confesses, however, its inability to differentiate clearly to what degree these better economic conditions at attributed to the tremendous prosperity whicb, has raised wages and reduced unemployment to a minimum. It further admits the extreme difficulty of obtaining reliable statistics.
Its figures were obtained , through questionnaires sent to 11.700 social welfare workers, and tlie report says that 90 per cent of these declined to till in the forms.
