In R-Otl he took a first class in the Classical Tripos, and in IfMtl a first in the Theological Tripos, becoming also Cams Creek prizeman and winning the Cams scholarship. He graduated ALA. in 1003 and was made nil Hon Doctor ol Divinity in ltllO. In 1002-3 ho was lecturer at Ridley Hall Cambrige, and from 1003 to 1000 was Fellow, lecturer and chaplain of Emmanuel College. Entering Holy Orders in 1003 lie was appointed examining chaplain to the Bishop of Carlisle in 100 a, became Dean in 1007, and Canonresident of Carlisle in 1000. Dean Carrington stated, when the cable message, was brought under his notice last night, that he had received no confirmation of the nomination.
