ARAIIURA YARDS.
At yesterday’s fat stock fixture field in these yards the entry comprised 71 head of fat cattle which constituted iniliably the best all round yarding fulsome time, that of Messrs Perry and i'o being a particularly good entry, the tops of their bullocks realising £2O 12s -d purchased by the local butcher Mr W. Berry. In comparison with the sale of this time last year prices showed no diminution per hundred and were quite equal to those ruling at the last sale, fat cows making £l6 and heifers to Cl 5 ss. Ox beef per hundred made to btfs, heifer beef from 40s toll’s yd, and cow beef from 3Ss to J->s according to quality. Messrs W. Messrs M. Houston and Co. report as follows: Tlio usual fortnightly sale was held -, t . the above yards yesterday, there ' eing a good attendance of buyers. Our mitrv consisted of 18 head of fat .-attic and 3b fat sheep; the greater portion of the cattle yarding being made up of fat cows and heifers. Competition was good throughout the sale, hut prices for ox beef were somewhat ■»asier. whilst cow and heifer Iteef were almost on a. par with those of recent sales. Ox beef ranged from 40s to •bs per hundred, cow and heifer to 40s. We sold as follows:—On account of T. Staines. 35 fat wethers at 475; on account. of YI.
