‘ HARBOUR LIGHTS”—WEDNESDAY.
Tlio screen version of Sims and Pettitt’s fine nautical drama, “Harbour Lights,” one of the great hits at the “Id Adelphi. and mnde familiar to us in this country by the grace of .). \N illiamson, Ltd., is an obvious improvement on the original script. The screen affords heaps of chances that the stage cannot, and never will he able to supply. The dashing navy lieutenant of Tom .Moore dominates the story, which is always interesting. It. was this role, Lieut. David Kingsley. that brought poor William Terris, into fame. Terriss. who was the father of Ellaine Terriss (Nil's Seymour Hicks) was stabbed to death by a disappointed actor at the stage door of the Adelphi. The men of war scenes, and the rescue by the life-boat, are all adroitly shown. There is good acting by a competent cast. Perilous climbs down steep cliffs, struggles ending in one of the fighters tumbling into an angry sea. lifeboat rescues in a fierce gale—these are just a few of the excitements in the great Master Picture. “Harbour Lights.” The film had the advantage of being directed by Toni Terriss, the son of William Teriss. Tom Moore, the celebrated Irish “star.” was brought 10.00! > miles to play the hero in the picture, and gives a delightful rendering of the jolly naval lieutenant who is the cent re of so many fights and intrigues. Other members of the cast include Miss Tsohel Elsom. 'Miss Annette Benson. Miss Mary Rorko (who acted in the original production of the play). Mr Gordon Hogg. Mr Gibson (lowland.
