Houston and Co report:— The iiimual Spring Sale of tut and store untie was held at the Watarou sale yards on Wednesday lasi, there Lome a large attendance id buyers. The yarding consisted id ii]nvards of 500 head of full crown tlereiord cattle, ranging from 2 to 1 year olds with a large proportion ol lat heilors and cows, and notwithstanding their lone; journey front the far south, the cattle were landed in splendid condition. Competition was very animated rigid from the commencement of the sale, but more particularly -n towards the close when there appeared to be a scramble anioiiysr buyers to till their roi'iitiremcnt ■. As was hilly aniicipatcd |u iees recorded showed a markeil increase on those ol the lasi lew years, and were almost on a level with the hi.-ib prices realised during the war period. Top price was secured hy Mr .John Condon of Maintain for a splendid pen of l.'S tour-yea r-o!d forward bullocks at L'l I I As. whilst a very nice pen ol L‘f three-vea i'-o!d steers Irom Messrs Nolan Bros of Okttru realized the verv satisfactory price ol £l3. Fat heifer- and cows were keenly competed for at current values, and the only pen of fat sheep yarded al=o met with a satisfactory sale.
