WHEAT YIELD. ADELAIDE!, Oct, 28. Tt is officially estimated that the wheat yield for 1925-26 amounts to 32.06*1.000 bushels compared with 30,528,020 for the previous year. THE SWEEP CASE. SYDNEY. Oct. 28. The police are puzzled what to do with £1G() seized in Freeman's office in connection with the New Zealand sweep case. The money appears to lie destined to go into the Government Revenue, but the question is whether the New .Smith Wales or the New Zealand Government should get it. The police slate it is impossible to return the money to the hundreds of people in New Zealand who sent for tickets as the letters came from all parts of the Dominion, It is also quest humble if the money would he claimed, as it is illegal to participate in sweeps and lotteries in New Zealand. 'lhe buyers of the tickets are hardly likely to claim the money. Ihe police are awaiting advice from the New Zealand authorities before taking any action. A SERIOUS I'TRE. MELBOURNE. Oct. 27. A lire early this morning, fanned by a strong wind, destroyed eleven out ol a row of twelve workmen's weatherboard cottages iu Williamstown. A sudden change in the wind saved the twelfth.
