ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. I BEEF AIARKET IRREGULAR. (By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Ales-sr.s H. Matson and Co., report as follows regaiding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday:-Beef.—-A small entry of 87(1 head. Consignments came forward from, the West Coast and the North Island and showed good quality. One or two lines of local cattle yarded were good, but the balance of the yarding was mixed. The market was slightly irregular and steers were somewhat easier, hut cows and heifers sold in advance of late rates and the sale towards the finish gathered speed. Extra heavy steers made £22 10s to C 29, prime steers Cis 10s to £2l 10s, medium til 15s to Cl 7. lighter til to CL) 10s, heifers (.extra heavy) Cl 7 JOs to CIO, prime 118 10s to £l4 15s. medium til to ,C. 12 1 Os, light £8 to till 10s, cows extra heavy CIO to £22 17s (id, prime Cl2 to CIS 10s, medium £8 to CIO JOs. light to to C 7 ss. Store Cattle.—There was a iairl.v large entry, one or two lines of steers were advertised and 'brought forward a big crowd of buyers and competition tor all classes was keen. Best three year old steers made from til to £l2 10s, smaller C 9 JOs to CIO ss. Iwo year olds i;!t to C 7 ss. yearlings C.B 15s to .C-l 2s (Id, heifers '.well grown three year olds) .to 15s to £7 ns, smaller (2-year-olds) £1 to £■! 15s, 1 resit young cows £8 10s to £1 2s (id, older £2 os to £2 15s, potters £1 5s to Cl 15s. hulls C2 to .£!> 10s.
.Million. - A medium, yarding came forward, including a large per cent ol shorn sheep. AYethors were well in the majority. The market opened about last week’s rates and although prices were firm throughout the sale can he called a dragging one. Store Sheep.—A small yarding and like last, week’s entry were made up mostly of old ewes with lambs at foot. There were some good lambs forward, but on the whole they were very small and drv in the wool, while the ewes
looked to he in the last sta.ges of existence, There was a good attendance of buyers and the demand for all classes of sheep was good, since the grass Inis started to grow here. It has certainly come away very quickly
and all farmers are anxious to buy good ewes and lambs from 22s to 25s 7d. all counted. .Medium and old down to Its. best forward wethers B,Bs (id io B(is (id. a few extra large- to 88s (id.

Fat I’igs.- A medium entry. The market opened easier than laic- rates, lint improved as the sale progressed, and finished on a par with lasi week’s market. There was only a small yarding of haeoners and prices were about I lie same as lasi week. Values were: Lighl porkers £2 10s to C2 15s, heavy C 8 to C 8 l(K, extra heavy C.2 15s, average price- Pel to Biel; light bacone-rs Cl 5s io Cl 15s. heavy to lo to I Ox, extra heavy til. average price- Mil to ! el : e-hoppers £8 10s io £7. Store- Pigs.— Only an average yarding came forward. Prices were slightly easier than lasi sale, but taking thing,-., all round prices must lie- considered highly satisfactory from a breeder’s point of view. Values were: AA'eaners (very small) CT to Cl Bs. better sorts Cl 15s to £2, small stores Cl 12s to Cl l«s, medium. .02 to C2 (is large- C2 15s lid, sows in pig £5 Iks.
