Holden, already wounded and unarmed, is shot, in the back by the cowardly sheriff. Fifteen years later Mary, living with her foster father, Singer Jim. thinks she is in love with Hamlin (Mass, junior, sou of the slierill' of former years, (.'lass is now president of a bank and in order that .Mary shall have good clothes, worthy of the man she is in love with. Singer Jim once again dons the clothes of the bandit, lie raids an auto mail and returns home without being discovered. lie tells Mary, that portion of the fortune left for her in the trust of Singer Jim has arrived and gives her some of the stolen money. On a shopping visit to town she visits (Hass and asks him to change ones of the notes, lie recognises the nolo ns one of those which have keen stolen liy the number. lie changes it and asks Mary to come hack, lit the meanwhile he sends detectives to get Singer Jim. That night Hamlin (Hass, junior, attacks Mary in his oilier. She manages to give the alarm, and her father and the sheritf arrive. The watchman also gives the alarm to the haul; officials, the detectives report that Singer Jim is the man they tomt, and Handin' (Hass tells tlie police that Singer is the man who shot Illicit .Holden years before. The sltcrilf then hands Singer over to the police, who have arrived also. Singer is sent to prison, ami on his release he sets out for the mountains. Mary is now living with the (Hensons, when Hamlin fells her Unit his father confessed to the crime of killing Holden. thus clearing Singer Jim. lint the latter cannot lie found. One day, while riding, .Mary hears one of the familiar songs that Singer sings, and followings Hu- sound, finds Singer Jim and happiness. A good comedy and “The Fast Fxpress ” serial, will complete the usual change of programme at Kvcrvhodv’s I’ieturcs to-night.
